Following 10 years experience as a Consultant, Keith joined UTS in 1993, to establish an education and research program in Timber Engineering. In his current role at UTA he undertakes teaching of various structural design subjects in both the undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as research and specialist consulting activities.
Keith is an internationally recognised expert in the areas of assessment (safety), rehabilitation and repair of timber structures, such as bridges, buildings and utility poles. His consultancies include research and development and specialist design for numerous government instrumentalities, timber industry companies, developers and other consultants.
He is the author of over 200 technical papers and research reports relating to the use, safety and reliability of structural timber. His research work finds applications through his active involvement in 4 SAA code committees and as Chair of Working Group 9, Round timbers and poles on ISO TC165 (Timber Engineering)
