Hamish is a forest economist with over 24 years experience in forestry and natural resources management. His areas of expertise include sustainable forestry certification, forest financial and woodflow modelling, carbon sequestration accounting and forest policy development.
Since forming Cailum Pty Ltd in 2002, Hamish has undertaken over 80 consultancy projects for both government and corporate clients. He is also the Australian representative for Soil Association Woodmark (FSC certification body) and an Honorary Fellow at the University of Melbourne.
 
 
Fabiano Ximenes

Fabiano has a bachelor in Forestry from Brazil (University of Brasília) and obtained a Master in Wood Science at the Australian National University. Fabiano is a Research Officer with the NSW Department of Primary Industries (NSW DPI), and is the current leader of the “Greenhouse Footprint of Wood Products” Project, jointly funded by the NSW Department of Environment and Conservation and the NSW DPI. Prior to this project, Fabiano was the leader of the "Carbon in Wood Products" Project from the Cooperative Research Centre for Greenhouse Accounting.

Director, Centre for Sustainable Architecture with Wood, School of Architecture & Design, University of Tasmania
 
Gregory Nolan is a registered Architect and Associate Professor at the University of Tasmania’s School of Architecture. In addition to teaching, Greg is also Director of the School’s Centre for Sustainable Architecture with Wood, a multi-disciplinary team of practitioners and researchers working with Australia's timber industry and the design and construction professions. Greg is active in research into timber and its use in building in Australia; hardwood production and drying; using Australia's hardwood plantation, and the thermal performance of timber buildings.
 
 
Simon Dorries
General Manager, Engineered Wood Products Association of Australasia (EWPAA)
 
Simon is the General Manager of the Engineered Wood Products Association of Australasia (EWPAA). The EWPAA is a manufacturer’s association representing plywood, laminated veneer lumber and other glued structural wood product manufacturers with operations in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Papua New Guinea.
Simon holds a Bachelor of Applied Science and has worked at the EWPAA for over 20 years.  His extensive experience has included product testing and assessment, research and development, development of certification systems for Engineered Wood Products and extensive experience in the development of training programs and product standards.
 
 
 
Rebecca Smith
Market Development Officer - Resource Recovery, Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council (EMRC)
 
The EMRC runs the Hazelmere Timber Recycling Centre, which recovers and processes industrial timber waste so it can be diverted from landfill and recycled as a reusable woodchip.
Rebecca assists in the development of sustainable markets for materials recovered from the waste stream.

The dynamic architectural practice of wrightfeldhusen was formed in 1996, with two principal architects, Tim Wright and Rachel Feldhusen.
Traditionally involved in residential design in Perth and Sydney, and regional areas of Western Australia however the practice has recently taken commercial and leisure commissions.

Richard Schaffner is a practicing Civil and Mechanical Engineer with 30 years experience in timber and is employed by Wespine, a large softwood sawmilling company based in WA, in the role of Business Development Manager. In this capacity, his focus is on process technology and production efficiency including structural timber grading and quality control. Prior to joining Wespine, Richard worked in the fields of structural timber design and hardwood processing. His broad knowledge of the timber industry and timber engineering underpins his participation on a number of National technical and research bodies.
 
 
Ian Weir
Research Fellow, Advanced Timber Concepts Research Centre, University of Western Australia
 
Ian is a product designer and architect and has recently completed his PhD research into the relationship between architecture and remote biodiverse landscapes.
Ian is a Research Fellow at UWA where his role is to investigate methods for optimization of Western Australian hardwoods and plantation timbers. Ian’s research methods  involve both creative design (e.g. timber furniture) and empirical experiment (e.g. analysis of component and material properties).

Consulting Engineer , B.A.Jordan & Associates.
 
A Consulting Civil and Structural Engineer, with specialisation in Timber Engineering, Bruce has experience in
product research and development, technical literature, design and documentation of numerous timber structures including novel structures, large span industrial and warehouse buildings.
 
Dr. Geoff Boughton
Director, TimberED Services
 
Geoff is Director of TimberED Services, a small company that provides structural consultancy services to the Australian timber industry. He holds the position of Adjunct Associate Professor in the school of Civil Engineering at Curtin University in Perth. His recent consultancies include management of the University education support program for the FWPA, development of the Timber Verification Guidelines for A3P and advice on quality control issues for various specific timber companies in the Australian industry.
He serves on a number of Australian timber standards committees including TM1 – Timber Design, TM3 – Timber Grading and TM8 – Plywood, as well as ISO Committee TC165 – Structural Timber.
